Posted: August 27, 2012 by Dan Martin in Tennis Picks, Tennis Predictions, US Open

Predicted Winners in BOLD

Andy Murray (3) vs. Alex Bogomolov Jr. – Andy should advance

Paul-Henri Mathieu vs. Igor Andreev – This is a 50-50 type match, but I like Paul-Henri due to his fitness

Hiroki Moriya vs. Ivan Dodig

Fernando Verdasco (25) vs. Rui Machado Possible upset here

Maxime Authom vs. Bjorn Phau

Nikolay Davydenko vs. Guido Pella

Albert Ramos vs. Robby Ginepri  - For old time’s sake

Gilles Simon (16) vs. Michael Russell – If I had a ticket this would be the match of the day for me to watch.  Expect a lot of long points and counter-punching guile.

Tatsuma Ito vs. Matthew Ebden

Florian Mayer (22) vs. Jack Sock – 3 out of 5 makes Mayer the favorite

Ruben Ramirez Hidalgo vs. Somdev Devvarman

Blaz Kavcic vs. Flavio Cipolla

Marcel Granollers (24) vs. Denis Kudla – Interesting match-up, but Granollers has been quite solid in 2012.

Mardy Fish (23) vs. Go Soeda – Go Fish?

Tim Smyczek vs. Bobby Reynolds

Martin Klizan vs. Alejandro Falla

Kei Nishikori (17) vs. Guido Andreozzi

Daniel Brands vs. Adrian Ungur

Lukas Lacko vs. James Blake – Blake makes an impression for 1 round at least

Jeremy Chardy (32) vs. Filippo Volandri – Chardy has made a few strides lately

Denis Istomin vs. Jurgen Zopp

Feliciano Lopez (30) vs. Robin Haase - I’ll take Haase with the upset

Marin Cilic (12) vs. Marinko Matosevic – Marin has quietly regrouped

Roger Federer (1) vs. Donald Young – Not an ideal draw for someone with a losing streak
