Both Serena and Simona are in action in Toronto – will they meet in the championship?

[2] Simona Halep (ROU) vs [6] Agnieszka Radwanska (POL) – This should be a tremendous match for fans.  Radwanska is enjoying a reurgence that started with the grass court season.  Halep has needed her own return to form and seems to be finding it in Toronto.  I think Radwanska as more variety while Simona is a more tireless retriever when her game is working.  I think Halep will have enough energy to eventually grind out a close 2 set or a 3 set win in which she takes the 3rd set going away from Aga.

[15] Sara Errani (ITA) vs [Q] Lesia Tsurenko (UKR) – The qualifier may be a bit leg weary.  Errani has a way of extending points that is not ideal for a player who may be a little worn down.

[1] Serena Williams (USA) vs Roberta Vinci (ITA) – I love Vinci’s variety, but Serena is the easy pick to win this match.

[5] Ana Ivanovic (SRB) vs Belinda Bencic (SUI) – The future waits in no one.
