US Open 2013: Day 6 Women’s Predictions

Predicted Winners in BOLD

Third Round
Caroline Wozniacki (6) vs. Camila Giorgi – The Dane is seeded 6th but seems a great distance from her days as the #1 seed.

Petra Kvitova (7) vs. Alison Riske – Kvitova had a great chance to win WImbledon for a second time this past July.  I love what her game could be, but she needs more actual results.

Svetlana Kuznetsova (27) vs. Flavia Pennetta – Pennetta is playing well enough to pull an upset here.

Ana Ivanovic (13) vs. Christina McHale – This could go either way, but I’ll take the seeded player.

Roberta Vinci (10) vs. Karin Knapp – I watched Knapp in Cincinnati and she has a nice power game, but also seemed to be battling injuries.

Julia Glushko vs. Daniela Hantuchova – Does she have a hangover from her doubles loss?

Victoria Azarenka (2) vs. Alize Cornet (26) – Vika could win this thing and start an interesting debate about #1 as she’d have 2 slams to Serena’s 1 in 2013.

Maria Kirilenko (14) vs. Simona Halep (21) – This could go either way, but I’ll take the safer pick.
