My philosophy for administering Tennis Abides revolves around the ideas that tennis is a great sport and that tennis can be covered in a level-headed manner. Too often manufactured controversy is used to drive up internet traffic. The desire to drive up traffic is likely caused by a desire for increased internet advertising revenue. Tennis Abides seeks to provide a respectful look at tennis. There are many larger commercial outlets that provide such an approach to tennis. In my situation, I think avoiding advertising promotes an environment conducive to high quality tennis posts and comments from readers. I certainly want to increase internet traffic, but I do not want to do so through zinging players and baiting readers into diatribes and polemic debates. I am open to advertising, but it would have to be a situation that did not compromise my ability to cover tennis in a level-headed manner.
Thanks for your continued support,
Dan
