Expect a similar match

Na Li is one of the few players in the draw who could challenge Serena Williams.  Li has twice been a runner-up at the Australian Open so she has hard court successes in her resume.  She also lost a tight and exciting match to Williams at Cincinnati 4 weeks ago 7-5, 7-5.  I think this match will be similar to the one in Cincinnati but slightly less close. Serena has been sharp throughout the event and unlike Cincinnati Serena was off the week before the US Open began and has had a day off between matches.  That leads me to think that despite Li’s forward thinking and variety that Serena will win this match.

Prediction: Serena Willians defeats Na Li 6-3, 6-4
