Seed survival in Indian Wells includes Nadal, Federer

That was the name of the game on stadium court at the BNP Paribas Open on Saturday. Rafael Nadal and Andy Murray won three-setters and Roger Federer managed to get the job done in two as the marquee names in the tournament battled to stay alive.

It started with Murray going up against well-known giant-killer Lukas Rosol. The underdog Czech stormed ahead by a set and a break, but Murray righted the ship to prevail 4-6, 6-3, 6-2 in one hour and 45 minutes. Murray broke Rosol five times, in part because the underdog served at just 48 percent and tossed in six double-faults.
