Alize Cornet (FRA)[20] vs. Ashleigh Barty (AUS) – Cornet should advance.

Dominika Cibulkova (SVK)[9] vs. Virginie Razzano (FRA) – The story of 2014 can get another Grand Slam win here.

Petra Kvitova (CZE)[5] vs. Zarina Diyas (KAZ) – Petra seems to be one of the nicest people on tour who has been afflicted with poor health.  I hope her talent comes through again on the big stage.

Jelena Jankovic (SRB)[6] vs. Sharon Fichman (CAN) – JJ should win.

Sloane Stephens (USA)[15] vs. Shuai Peng (CHN) – An upset would not shock me here, but I will take the favorite.

Monica Puig (PUR) vs. Samantha Stosur (AUS)[19] – I will predict an upset here.  Puig just won a tournament.  This is not an ideal draw for Stosur.

Sofia Shapatava (GEO) vs. Svetlana Kuznetsova (RUS)[27] – Kuzy for old-time’s sake.

Romina Oprandi (SUI) vs. Paula Ormaechea (ARG)

Marina Erakovic (NZL) vs. Nadiya Kichenok (UKR)

Karin Knapp (ITA) vs. Mona Barthel (GER) – KK is a solid player.

Shahar Peer (ISR) vs. Eugenie Bouchard (CAN)[18] – This is a bad draw for both players, but Bouchard has a lot more momentum than Peer these days.
