Wimbledon 2014: Day 5 Ladies’ Singles Predictions

Predicted Winners in BOLD

Petra Kvitova (CZE) [6] Venus Williams (USA) [30] – With 6 Wimbledon singles trophies between them, this could be the match of the day.  I think Kvitova is slowly regaining form on the grass courts.

Barbora Zahlavova Strycova (CZE) Na Li (CHN) [2] – Na Li is a threat to win this title if she has gotten past her level of play in Paris.

Simona Halep (ROU) [3] Lesia Tsurenko (UKR) – Halep is one of my favorite players to watch as she is crafty, powerful and quick.

Michelle Larcher De Brito (POR) Agnieszka Radwanska (POL) [4] – Radwanska will need to be careful, but I think she wins.

Caroline Wozniacki (DEN) [16]Ana Konjuh (CRO) – Wozniacki seems to be playing very well.  I expect her to advance.

Lucie Safarova (CZE) [23]  Dominika Cibulkova (SVK) [10] – I put Cibulkova in the semifinal round in my tournament preview so I had better pick her here.

Belinda Bencic (SUI) Victoria Duval (USA) – I like Duval’s chances in this match.

Caroline Garcia (FRA) Ekaterina Makarova (RUS) [22]

Shuai Peng (CHN) Lauren Davis (USA)

Bojana Jovanovski (SRB) Tereza Smitkova (CZE) – Bojana Jovanovski impressed me in her match versus Vika.
