Wimbledon 2014: Day 6 Ladies’ Singles Predictions

Predicted Winners in BOLD

Both Lisicki and Sharapova are in Action on Saturday

Centre Court

[5] Maria Sharapova (RUS) vs Alison Riske (USA) – Riske has played well and positioned herself as a “tough out” over the past 52 weeks.  She may trouble Sharapova a few times, but Maria should advance.

Court 1

[1] Serena Williams (USA) vs [25] Alize Cornet (FRA) – Serena has to this point displayed a great deal of focus at Wimbledon.

[11] Ana Ivanovic (SRB) vs [19] Sabine Lisicki (GER) – I think Lisicki can use the grass to her advantage and find a way to win a great 3 set match.

Court 2

[3] Simona Halep (ROU) vs Belinda Bencic (SUI) – Halep came close to losing today.  I think this is a lot closer to a 50-50 match than rankings/seedings would suggest.

Court 3

[13] Eugenie Bouchard (CAN) vs [20] Andrea Petkovic (GER) – Bouchard is my pick in this battle of Roland Garros semifinalists.

Court 12

[9] Angelique Kerber (GER) vs [24] Kirsten Flipkens (BEL) – This is another 50-50 match.

Court 18

[WC] Vera Zvonareva (RUS) vs Zarina Diyas (KAZ) – Vera slowly reminding people how well she played at Wimbledon not that long ago.

Court 17

Madison Keys (USA) vs Yaroslava Shvedova (KAZ) – Jingoistic pick
