Predicted Winners in BOLD
Is there a better day in Tennis than the 2nd Monday at Wimbledon?
Centre Court
[3] Andy Murray (GBR) vs [20] Kevin Anderson (RSA) – Mr. Anderson has played well in slams in 2014. He has compiled a 9-2 record. Murray has been better with a 12-2 record in Grand Slam play. The defending champion should advance, but I would not be shocked to see this go 4 sets.
[1] Novak Djokovic (SRB) vs [14] Jo-Wilfried Tsonga (FRA) – This is not a great draw for the #1 seed considering that Tsonga reached the semis in 2011 and 2012.
Court 1
[11] Grigor Dimitrov (BUL) vs Leonardo Mayer (ARG) – Dimitrov faces a solid opponent, but Dimitrov seems poised to affirm his position in the top 10.
Court 2
[5] Stan Wawrinka (SUI) vs Denis Istomin (UZB) – Third round – I picked Stan before so I will stick with that, but Istomin could knock him out of the tournament.
Court 3
[9] John Isner (USA) vs [19] Feliciano Lopez (ESP) – Third round – I once again picked F-Lo to win this match so I am sticking with it. It should be a serving war.
Court 18
[26] Marin Cilic (CRO) vs Jérémy Chardy (FRA) – These two are almost mirror images. Tall, thing guys who serve well and have a nice open-stance forehand. Cilic has had more experience in these spots so I will pick him.
Court 8
1. [10] Kei Nishikori (JPN) vs [LL] Simone Bolelli (ITA) 36 63 46 76 (4) 33 – to finish – Third round – I picked Kei so I will stick with it. However, if Bolelli wins he becomes the luckiest lucky loser I can remember.
