Wimbledon 2014: Day 10 Ladies’ Quarterfinal Predictions

Predicted Winners in BOLD

Centre Court

[3] Simona Halep (ROU) vs. [19] Sabine Lisicki (GER) – I am very torn in predicting a winner in this match.  Halep would easily be my pick on other surfaces.  However, Lisicki has a great serve and has a strong grass court record.  I like Lisicki to win a set, but I think if Halep can take care of her own serve she will eventually win this match.

Court 1

[13] Genie Bouchard (CAN) vs. [19] Angelique Kerber  (GER) – Kerber pulled off a major upset today.  Maybe whatever happened in Paris has given Kerber a bit of an edge.  I watched Kerber last summer in Cincinnati and thought her game was impressive.  Still, Bouchard is 14-2 in Grand Slam matches in 2014.  She seems to be poised for a breakthrough.  If Kerber can make her being left-handed a big factor, she can pull the upset.
