Roger Federer vs. Jo-Wilfried Tsonga

This should be an excellent match.  Tsonga seems recently rejuvenated and has blasted through three impressive opponents over the past three days.  Over his past three tournaments, Roger Federer won Halle, was runner-up at Wimbledon and is now in the Masters Canada final.  Both guys know the other’s game.  They have met in many big tournaments.  Roger has generally won, but Tsonga has also drawn blood.  Tsonga has momentum from his tough draw, and Roger is on a feel good ride that involves birthday cake.

Federer is in his third Masters 1000 final of 2014.  He is also in his 7th tournament final posting a 2-4 record in the first 6 tournament finals he’s reached in 2014.  I think Roger is due.  That is not a lot to base a pick on, but both players know each other’s game and have the tools to win so I am going with a psychological explanation.
