[5] Maria Sharapova (RUS) vs. Alexandra Dulgheru (ROU) – Sharapova is going to advance.

[19] Venus Williams (USA) vs  Timea Bacsinszky (SUI) – Venus with a day off between matches could be very dangerous in NYC.

[4] Agnieszka Radwanska (POL) vs  Shuai Peng (CHN) – MATCH OF THE DAY ALERT – Peng would beat a lot of people, but Aga is in great form.

[2] Simona Halep (ROU) vs Jana Cepelova (SVK) – If Serena doesn’t win, Halep is a good pick.

[9] Jelena Jankovic (SRB) vs  Tsvetana Pironkova (BUL) – I have to pick one upset for the day.  Right?

[10] Caroline Wozniacki (DEN) vs [Q] Aliaksandra Sasnovich (BLR) – The Wizard of Woz had some issues in the first round.
