Predicted Winners in BOLD

This is a great slate of matches

Flavia Pennetta (ITA) [11] vs. Casey Dellacqua (AUS) [29] – Flavia has gotten better as her career has progressed.  I think she wins another match here.

Serena Williams (USA) [1] vs. Kaia Kanepi (EST) – Serena may have a problem or two with Cobra Kaia Kanepi, but Serena is looking solid for an 18th major title at the moment. 

Aleksandra Krunic (SRB) vs. Victoria Azarenka (BLR) [16] – Vika showing signs of life is a great omen for the women’s game.  In fact, if Vika, Petra, Wozniacki and Venus are returning to previous form right as Halep, Bouchard, and co. are rising and Serena and Sharapova are playing well, then women’s tennis is in a great spot.  

Ekaterina Makarova (RUS) [17] vs. Eugenie Bouchard (CAN) [7] – I think Eugenie will win based on her great Grand Slam record in 2014.  However, Makarova is no slouch.  I think this goes 3 sets.  I am changing my mind before publishing.  I think Makarova edges out the Canadian prodigy.
