No Shortage of Storylines for Sunday

• Serena Williams’ 6 wins in NY, 2 titles and 1 semifinal finish on North American hard courts make her the top player of this season, but Caroline Wozniacki pushed Serena to 3 sets twice.  Therefore, Sunday’s result is anything but given, and if Wozniacki wins the US Open she will have had the best hard court summer.
• Serena Williams will increase her credentials in the GOAT debate with a 6th US Open title.  A lot can be said on this topic right now, but a Serena win will mean even more can and will be said.
• Caroline Wozniacki could erase any sting of her many weeks spent at #1 without a Grand Slam title if she captures her first major by vanquishing Serena Williams.
• Caroline Wozniacki watched her ex-fiancee pick up two major titles in golf since their relationship ended.  She would only win one major if she triumphs on Sunday, but it would be a major in a sport that requires running.  Yes, I said that.
