[4] Caroline Wozniacki (DEN) vs [16] Venus Williams (USA) – I like Wozniacki to win a close match.

[1] Serena Williams (USA) vs [24] Svetlana Kuznetsova (RUS) – Kuznetsova is just unpredictable enough to pull an upset, but I think Serena wins pretty easily.  It is odd to think that these two have combined for 21 Grand Slam singles titles.

[3] Simona Halep (ROU) vs [15] Flavia Pennetta (ITA) – Halep will either need to serve steadily or be ready to scramble after hitting serves, but I think she eventually wears the zoning veteran down.

[8] Ekaterina Makarova (RUS) vs [9] Andrea Petkovic (GER) – The definition of a 50-50 match.

[7] Agnieszka Radwanska (POL) vs [12] Carla Suárez Navarro (ESP) – Radwanska seems to be struggling so I think an upset is likely.

[14] Karolina Pliskova (CZE) vs [WC] Daria Gavrilova (RUS) – She has come this far as a wild card.

[11] Sara Errani (ITA) vs [27] Sabine Lisicki (GER) – Lisicki seems to be playing quite well as of late.

Sloane Stephens (USA) vs Belinda Bencic (SUI) – I think the Swiss manages to fend off a tough challenge.
