[2] Simona Halep (ROU) vs. [14] Venus Williams (USA) – Venus is in good form, but Halep needs to find momentum to make an assault on Roland Garros.  I thought Halep would win in Paris when Miami ended. The clay court season has not reaffirmed that opinion to this point.  That makes this win vital for Halep.
