[4] Petra Kvitova (CZE) vs. Marina Erakovic (NZL) – Petra is a contender, but she is also highly unpredictable.  That should not become a factor to consider in round 1.

[1] Serena Williams (USA) vs. Andrea Hlavackova (CZE) – Serena has 2 Roland Garros titles, but a triple crown may be in the works.

[5] Caroline Wozniacki (DEN) vs Karin Knapp (ITA) – This is not the easiest draw, but I expect Wozniacki to advance.  Karin Knapp may come close or even win 1 set though.

[6] Eugenie Bouchard (CAN) vs. Kristina Mladenovic (FRA) – Eugenie has been in a downward spiral recently, but I think she wins at least a few matches in Paris.

[18] Svetlana Kuznetsova (RUS) vs Kiki Bertens (NED) – The former champion has shown signs of life in the past couple of months.  I expect her to win in round 1.

[10] Andrea Petkovic (GER) vs. Shelby Rogers (USA) – Unless she is feeling the pressure of defending points, Petkovic should win in a straightforward manner.
