The No. 1 ranked Serena Williams is looking for her third French Open title despite her struggles on clay. Today she recently defeated Sloane Stephens in the Round of 16 in two straight sets after coming from behind, 1-6, 7-5 and 6-3.

Williams has been pushed to three sets twice before meeting with Stephens in the matchup. Stephens has yet to drop a set through three rounds at the French Open.

And speaking of meetings, this is not the first meeting of the two fellow Americans. Stephens won against Williams in the 2013 Australian Open, but Williams has won the past three meetings: 2013 U.S. Open; 2015 Madrid and 2015 Indian Wells.

Early on Stephens took over taking a 2-0 lead in the first set, but Williams attempted to close in on the deficit taking her first, which ended up being her only game she won in the first set.
