“When I start to play, I was kind of smashing the serves. It was a good sign” – @Petra_Kvitova #Wimbledon pic.twitter.com/hK3i1eyNUf

Predicted Winners in BOLD
[18] Sabine Lisicki (GER) v Christina McHale (USA) – If this were on a slower surface, I would consider taking McHale as she competes so well. Lisicki’s serve at Wimbledon can be deadly, and I think that means the German will play with enough confidence to win this match. McHale will not hand it to her, but I think Lisicki takes it.
[2] Petra Kvitova (CZE) v Kurumi Nara (JPN) – Petra looked very strong in round 1. Petra has 2 Wimbledon titles and 3 Fed Cup titles, but a 3rd Wimbledon certainly would add to her historical stature.
[13] Agnieszka Radwanska (POL) v Ajla Tomljanovic (AUS) – Aga has been through some rough months on tour. Perhaps she is regrouping.
[8] Ekaterina Makarova (RUS) v Magdalena Rybarikova (SVK) – Someone in the ESPN team needs to do a piece of Patronimics in various Slavic languages. At any rate, I like the Russian.
[5] Caroline Wozniacki (DEN) v Denisa Allertova (CZE) – The Wizard of Woz advances in a straight forward manner.
[10] Angelique Kerber (GER) v Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova (RUS) – Had Kerber not won a tune-up event and looked strong in her first round match, I’d be picking AP. This should be a fun match for fans, but I think Kerber fights through to the 3rd round with her lefty baseline counter-punching.
[15] Timea Bacsinszky (SUI) v Silvia Soler-Espinosa (ESP) – The Swiss are coming.
[28] Jelena Jankovic (SRB) v Evgeniya Rodina (RUS) – I can’t keep taking the seeded players can I?
[20] Garbine Muguruza (ESP) v Mirjana Lucic-Baroni (CRO) – My favorite WTA player verses one of the best stories in tennis. I think the veteran will find a way to advance, but if Muguruza gets her footwork on grass down path she could be dangerous due to her power game.
[26] Svetlana Kuznetsova (RUS) v Kristyna Pliskova (CZE) – This should be another fun match for people holding tickets.
[21] Madison Keys (USA) v Elizaveta Kulichkova (RUS) – Keys’ progress on tour has been quite impressive the past 6 months.
[25] Alizé Cornet (FRA) v [Q] Olga Govortsova (BLR) – Cornet is a player with variety and grit. Those come in handy in Grand Slam play.
Tatjana Maria (GER) v [Q] Ying-Ying Duan (CHN)
Monica Niculescu (ROU) v Jana Cepelova (SVK)
[31] Camila Giorgi (ITA) v Lara Arruabarrena (ESP)
[17] Elina Svitolina (UKR) v Casey Dellacqua (AUS) – I like the Ukranian’s game a lot, but this should be another competitive match.
