Wimbledon 2015: July 4th Ladies’ Predictions

Predicted Winners in BOLD

[2] Petra Kvitova (CZE) v [28] Jelena Jankovic (SRB) – I like Petra to win, but JJ is capable of working her way into a match.  If Petra plays a clean match, she will win pretty easily.  If errors become a factor, this could go either way.

[5] Caroline Wozniacki (DEN) v [31] Camila Giorgi (ITA) – Wozniacki trails their head-to-head but won a match on grass with Giorgi last year.  I think Wozniacki’s ability to move is a great asset on grass.

[10] Angelique Kerber (GER) v [20] Garbiñe Muguruza (ESP) – Muguruza has a serious edge in terms of serving prowess.  Kerber is a tough competitor who makes good use of her left-handed status.

[15] Timea Bacsinszky (SUI) v [18] Sabine Lisicki (GER) – If the Swiss can absorb Lisicki’s serve, she can get leverage in the match and win.

[21] Madison Keys (USA) v Tatjana Maria (GER) – Keys has a great team behind her who likely have her ready to move into the second week at Wimbledon.

Kristyna Pliskova (CZE) v Monica Niculescu (ROU) –

[13] Agnieszka Radwanska (POL) v Casey Dellacqua (AUS) – Playing mixed doubles with Lleyton Hewitt may have the Aussie tapping into Rusty’s grit on court.

Magdalena Rybarikova (SVK) v [Q] Olga Govortsova (BLR) – The qualifier may be leg weary by this point in week 1.
