Andy Murray vs. Donald Young

Murray can throw out a really odd or off effort.  Still, the odds of Young beating Murray twice this year seem pretty low to me.  I see Murray winning in 3 or 4 sets.

Gilles Muller vs. Rafael Nadal

Rafa has looked shaky since Wimbledon.  Muller played Rafa tough on grass this year and beat him at Wimbledon an eon ago.  This will not matter much as Nadal should advance even if he Muller can serve his way to a tiebreak or two.  This may go 4 sets, but Nadal should advance.

David Ferrer vs. Andy Roddick

Ferrer is favored, but if an upset is going to happen today it will be Roddick.  Andy will need a lot of big serves and will need to dictate play whenever possible as Ferrer will not make enough errors to lose.  Andy will have to beat him.  On paper, I think Ferrer wins in 4 or 5 sets.  However, I pick Roddick in 4 tight sets.

John Isner vs. Gilles Simon

A night match should help Isner.  I think at least one set will go to a tiebreak.  However, I see Simon winning this match.  John Isner’s backhand and movement are not going to be solid enough to win many long points versus Simon.  Isner is going to have to hit a lot of aces, service winners and big forehands to win.  The former Georgia Bulldog has a chance, but Simon is a bad match-up.  Simon in 3 or 4 is my guess.
