Tennis Masters Cincinnati Predictions: August 15, 2013

Predicted Winners in BOLD

Third Round

Milos Raonic (12) vs. John Isner – This should be a match full of long rallies and multiple service breaks.  This is a 50-50 match that will come down to tiebreaks and maybe one or two service breaks.  I’ll take Isner as Raonic has more or less backed up last week’s result.

Juan Martin del Potro (7) vs. Feliciano Lopez – FLo is back as a factor on tour, but I think the 2009 US Open champion is quietly contemplating a 2nd major title.

Rafael Nadal (4) vs. Grigor Dimitrov – Dimitrov has a chance as he played Rafa tough earlier this year on clay, but Rafa’s form as of late has been so strong that he is the overwhelming favorite.

Andy Murray (2) vs. Julien Benneteau – Julien has done well to reach this round, but Murray wins in a straightforward manner.

Tomas Berdych (6) vs. Tommy Robredo – Berdych should win, but if his focus wonders Robredo is professional enough to take advantage.

Novak Djokovic (1) vs. David Goffin – Nole should come through, but I loved Goffin’s game in person.

David Ferrer (3) vs. Dmitry Tursunov – It is nice that the humorous Tursunov is playing well and winning matches, but Ferrer is likely to grind out a win.

Roger Federer (5) vs. Tommy Haas (11) – Federer is the favorite on paper and did beat Haas in Halle, but I think that Haas is in slightly better form at the moment.  3 out of 5 sets would be a different pick from me, but I think Haas pulls through in 3 entertaining sets.
