Good On Ya
Predicted Winners in BOLD
James Duckworth (AUS) vs. Roger Federer (SUI) [6] – With a new racquet it is possible that Fed might spray a lot of errors, but I think he advances here while setting a record for consecutive Grand Slam events played.
Andreas Seppi (ITA) [24] vs. Lleyton Hewitt (AUS) – This is not a great draw for either guy, but I think Hewitt keeps his momentum and wins.
Rafael Nadal (ESP) [1] vs. Bernard Tomic (AUS) – This type of draw ought to motivate Tomic to get into the top 32 in the world. Rafa rolls.
Jo-Wilfried Tsonga (FRA) [10] vs. Filippo Volandri (ITA) – I am taking Tsonga here, but an upset would not shock me.
Andy Murray (GBR) [4] vs. Go Soeda (JPN) – Murray needs matches to get the rust off, and I think he will earn a second match here.
Rhyne Williams (USA) vs. Juan Martin Del Potro (ARG) [5] – Delpo should advance. The US will be lucky to put a player into the round of 16.
Ryan Harrison (USA) vs. Gael Monfils (FRA) [25] – This is a possible upset, but Gael played well in Qatar.
Marinko Matosevic (AUS) vs. Kei Nishikori (JPN) [16] – This is close to a 50-50 match.
Fernando Verdasco (ESP) [31] vs. Ze Zhang (CHN)
Nick Kyrgios (AUS) vs. Benjamin Becker (GER) – For old time’s sake
Thanasi Kokkinakis (AUS) vs. Igor Sijsling (NED)
Michal Przysiezny (POL) vs. Horacio Zeballos (ARG)
Michael Berrer (GER) vs. Michael Llodra (FRA) – I like Llodra to win this one.
Martin Klizan (SVK) vs. John Isner (USA) [13] – The big man should get through a few rounds before facing his nemesis.
Benoit Paire (FRA) [27] vs. Frank Dancevic (CAN) – Give the Canadian credit for still being out there, but I think Paire is too solid.
Philipp Kohlschreiber (GER) [21] vs. Aljaz Bedene (SLO) – Waiting on Isner in round 3?
Daniel Brands (GER) vs. Gilles Simon (FRA) [18] – This could go either way, but I am partial to Simon.
Milos Raonic (CAN) [11] vs. Daniel Gimeno-Traver (ESP) – A strong start to 2014 could help Raonic’s bid to becoming a semi-elite player, but his first round match is no cakewalk.
Marin Cilic (CRO) vs. Marcel Granollers (ESP) – How Cilic returns to the tour will be interesting to watch. My guess is that he has a lot of losses early in his return.
Blaz Rola (SLO) vs. Federico Delbonis (ARG)
Roberto Bautista Agut (ESP) vs. Tim Smyczek (USA)
Jimmy Wang (TPE) vs. Yen-Hsun Lu (TPE)
Teymuraz Gabashvili (RUS) vs. Sergiy Stakhovsky (UKR)
Radek Stepanek (CZE) vs. Blaz Kavcic (SLO) – Momentum from Davis Cup could lead Stepanek to a nice event in Melbourne.
Robin Haase (NED) vs. Donald Young (USA) – Young needs to show something here, but I think the train has left the station.
Tobias Kamke (GER) vs. Jack Sock (USA) – I think Sock can do some nice things if he learned from his loss of conditioning at the US Open.
Bradley Klahn (USA) vs. Grigor Dimitrov (BUL) [22] – I think 2014 could be a big year for Grigor.
Somdev Devvarman (IND) vs. Feliciano Lopez (ESP) [26] – The throwback finds his way to the second round.
Dusan Lajovic (SRB) vs. Lucas Pouille (FRA)
Thomaz Bellucci (BRA) vs. Julian Reister (GER) – I really liked where Bellucci’s game was 3 years ago. The problem is that it seems to be in the same place today.
Peter Gojowczyk (GER) vs. Victor Hanescu (ROU)
Vincent Millot (FRA) vs. Wayne Odesnik (USA) – WADA hopes for a Millot win.

Agree with your picks mainly, although I see something happened to Isner?
Yeah, I think the heat got some players and injuries others. I am not sure with Isner. US men’s tennis is in quite the tailspin.
