My History with Tennis & Foot Problems
I have been playing tennis since 1985 and in 2003 started coaching both male and female high school players for two different Greater Cincinnati Area schools. I have experienced many facets of tennis. My earliest years as a tennis player were like those of a hacker, but I started taking lessons, playing leagues, inter-club matches and USTA junior tournaments. As an adult, I both coach and cover events such as Masters Series Cincinnati from the press box. Foot problems have followed me throughout my tennis career. My heels, my arches, and the balls of my feet have all taken turns acting up. I contacted the good people at Thorlos to say I was going to review their socks. They sent me a new pair of tennis socks as well as a pair of cross-training socks. My review will focus on the tennis socks. I will say that the Experia multi-sport socks are quite comfortable for tennis and other activities such as basketball.

Review of Thorlos Tennis Socks
Comfort – 10/10
I love wearing Thorlos. They are clearly designed to protect one’s feet while also keeping them comfortable. The ball of the foot as well as the heel are nicely cushioned. The toe and ball of the foot feel good. Also, I have issues with blisters, and these socks have cleared up that issue.
Climate Control – 10/10
Anyone who has played tennis for a decent period of time has probably seen Thorlos in a pro-shop. While the socks offer great cushioning for the bottom of one’s foot, the top of Thorlos are made of a mesh that allows the foot to breathe so to speak while playing tennis. The material of the socks is patented and called Thorlon. It is moisture wicking. These socks keep my feet dry, and I frankly sweat a lot so keeping my feet dry says a lot.
Durability – 10/10
Thorlos last a long time. I know this because my father (probably who I inherited my foot issues from) is an avid tennis player who has used Thorlos for years. He gets annoyed if I visit him and borrow a pair of socks that mysteriously end up going home with me.
Beyond the Numbers
Thorlos are great socks for anyone who has foot problems and who also loves tennis. I have had issues with blisters, foot pain, and toe issues as well. Thorlos last a long time, fit well and feel good. Nothing cures all foot problems, but these socks have prevented further issues and allowed for me to continue playing and instructing tennis while healing also takes place. For these reasons, I strongly recommend Thorlos Tennis socks.
Before I had even written this review, the people at Thorlos offered my readers a chance to get a free trial pair of socks while supplies last. As I understand the offer, you need to only follow this link. The free socks market for around $14 to $15. A tennis fanatic can put in his or her shoe size and a few other pieces of information and pay for shipping and handling to receive a pair of socks. I think it shows a lot of faith in their product to offer this without knowing what I would write about their socks. Thankfully, the socks were so good that I was spared any difficulty in sharing their offer for a free trial pair of Thorlos tennis socks.
