There was no repeat shock victory for Rosol against Nadal on this occasion.  Although for a long time it looked like another upset could be on the cards. Rosol was playing with the ridiculous form he found in their previous encounter, breaking Nadal’s serve in game nine to take the first set 6-4. The second set went down to the wire, Nadal clawed back a 5-3 deficit to take it to a tie breaker. Rosol lead the breaker 5-3, and it was certainly a tense time for Nadal, who looked to be succumbing to the Czech once more. He may have been down, but Nadal was never out. Showing the crowd what a champion he is, he dug deep to fight his way out of the breaker. At 5-4 down he sent the ball skimming over the net and Rosol didn’t have an answer.
