Rogers Cup 2014 – Toronto ATP Quarterfinal Predictions

Predicted Winners in BOLD

[8] Andy Murray (GBR) vs [13] Jo-Wilfried Tsonga (FRA) H2H – Murray did not have to play his round of 16 match, but Tsonga only lost 4 games versus the world #1.  I’d pick Murray even if Tsonga had not just upset Nole, but in sports a lot of times an upset leads to a flat performance in the next round.

[7] Grigor Dimitrov (BUL) vs Kevin Anderson (RSA) H2H – “Mr. Anderson, you do allow for cool Matrix references, but Milos and I have this competition going for the best under 25 player in the world. He won last week in DC so I really need this match.  Milos’ even has his own commercials now. (see below)”

[6] Milos Raonic (CAN) vs Feliciano Lopez (ESP) H2H – Milos in Canada has to be my pick.  Expect at least 1 tiebreak if not 3 in this match.

[2] Roger Federer (SUI) vs [5] David Ferrer (ESP) H2H – These two have not played since 2012.  Ferrer has never beaten Federer.  2013 might have been David’s year for beating Roger.  I think Fed wins in 2 contested sets.
