1. Serena Williams is adding to her legacy. She avenged a one-sided round robin loss with a one-sided championship win over Simona Halep. Serena suffered lapses more frequently than one might guess in 2014, but if she repeats her 2014 performance in 2015, her GOAT resume will rise in terms of slams, time at #1 and longevity.
2. Roger Federer’s charge since Roland Garros has been quite impressive. I already stated that I don’t see him as the number one for 2014, but the computer may say otherwise. Federer once again bought pizza for the ball kids in Basel. I do expect another tilt with Ivo in Paris.
3. Andy Murray has twice saved match points versus Tommy Robredo in recent tournament championship rounds. Robredo gave Murray a funny handshake to display his thoughts on his near misses. I think Murray is rounding back into the form we’ve come to expect from him since 2008.
