Novak Djokovic vs. Marin Cilic

This match has it all.  Here are some of the plot lines featured:

• The two most recent male Grand Slam champions square off
• The player with the most and the least qualifying points face one another
• Croatia vs. Serbia
• A rematch of a 5 set quarterfinal match at Wimbledon
• The defending champion versus a player making his WTF debut
• The Djoker vs. The Palindrome

I like this match for Cilic as he played well enough to win Moscow and is perhaps past his post US Open daze.  I think the surface and conditions in London should be advantageous to Cilic.  I like this match better for Nole.  He’s #1, but his #1 ranking for 2014 is not assured.  Nole responded to that pressure by playing his best tennis since Rome in to win indoors in Paris.  I think both players stand a good chance of advancing out of this group, but I think Nole’s return and steely resolve will be too much.  I predict Djokovic d. Cilic 6-4, 7-5.
