2. I hope Garbine Muguruza shows some of the fight she showed at Roland Garros last year.
3. Azarenka vs. Stephens is a match to circle.
4. Can Petra Kvitoa beat the heat when she plays day matches?
5. Ana Ivanovic and Simona Halep both have to like their chances at reaching the final four.
6. Bouchard has some points to defend and will need to handle that pressure.
7. Maria Sharapova needs to avoid anyone who can exploit her mobility.
8. Angelique Kerber may be at a point where she needs to make a move or a step back will be inevitable.

Prediction – I am going to be honest in that I have no idea.  The draw on one hand looks soft and the chalk should advance.  On the other hand, Serena has lost early in recent years.  She sets the tone, and I have no way of knowing her tone for early 2015.  If I had to guess, I think Simona Halep wins the event.
