Hamburg 2015 – Nadal defeats Verdasco from a set down!


It was the match we had all been waiting for, Nadal’s first match since his lost to Dustin Brown at Wimbledon and his first match in Hamburg was against a tough opponent in Fernando Verdasco who already beat him this year…

I tuned into the match with Verdasco lead 5-3 and serving for the opening set and the rhythm of the match was obvious within a couple of minutes as from 15-15 Nadal produced three unforced forehand errors in the row with Verdasco easily holding to take the set.

In the second the first game was a bit of a marathon and something that was noticeable was the difference in depth between the two players on the forehand placement.
