Bouncing back is what great champions do and it is what is expected from Roger Federer when he takes on Mikhail Kukushkin in Basel after his second round loss to Albert Ramos-Vinolas in Shanghai not long ago.
I remember watching the second and third set off the match it was won and lost on the tightest of margins and then when you looked at the stats from the match Federer couldn’t have probably asked for a more perfect performance, the only thing that let him down was the break points won which was 2/6.
Federer and Kukushkin do have history having met twice before on the tour in the Davis Cup quarter finals last year and the first round of Wimbledon back in 2011 with Federer winning both matches without dropping a set winning 7-6 6-4 6-2 and 6-4 6-4 6-2.
