Queen’s Club 2016: June 14th Predictions

Predicted Winners in BOLD

[2] Stan Wawrinka (SUI) vs. Fernando Verdasco (ESP) H2H – I think this could go either way as both have firepower, but I think Hot Sauce is less steady than Stan.

[1] Andy Murray (GBR) vs. Nicolas Mahut (FRA) H2H – Not a great draw for Andy to face a player who just won a tournament on grass and who just became the #1 doubles player in the world.  Still, Andy should be able to hold often enough to let his return be the difference.

[3] Milos Raonic (CAN) vs. Nick Kyrgios (AUS)  H2H – I don’t think the addition of McEnroe will matter much today.  Nick has had Milos’ number in their recent meetings.

[8] Gilles Simon (FRA) vs. [WC] Kyle Edmund (GBR) H2H – Simon had a rough third set versus JMDP last week.  Still, I think he manages to advance here.

[5] Marin Cilic (CRO) vs. Feliciano Lopez (ESP) H2H – I like FLo on grass in this match.

Grigor Dimitrov (BUL) vs. [PR] Janko Tipsarevic (SRB) H2H – Grigor needs this, but I am not sure he will get it.

[7] John Isner (USA) vs. [PR] Juan Martin del Potro (ARG) H2H – I think Isner wins with several tiebreak sets.

Paul-Henri Mathieu (FRA) vs. [WC] Daniel Evans (GBR) H2H

[6] Roberto Bautista Agut (ESP) vs. Sam Querrey (USA) H2H – Sam has had some good moments at this event so I will give him a nostalgia pick.

Benoit Paire (FRA) vs. Aljaz Bedene (GBR) H2H

Gilles Muller (LUX) vs. [WC] James Ward (GBR) H2H – Not an easy draw for Ward as Muller was runner-up to Mahut on grass heading into this one.

Guillermo Garcia-Lopez (ESP) vs. Adrian Mannarino (FRA) H2H

Bernard Tomic (AUS) vs. [Q] Kevin Anderson (RSA) H2H – Anderson needs to win on effort alone.

Jérémy Chardy (FRA) vs. [LL] Jiri Vesely (CZE) H2H
