These sort of points are worth our viewing

Madison Keys vs. Simona Halep

This is an excellent championship match.  Both players are legitimate threats looking for their first Grand Slam title, but they play in a way that contrasts their strengths.  Keys has power and loves to dictate play.  Halep is a gifted counter-puncher.  Keys has the much better serve, but Halep is one of the top returners on the WTA Tour.  Therefore, I think the points will be a lot of fun for fans.

I think in a situation like this the winner might be the one who steals the thunder of the other player.  If Halep serves better than usual or makes Keys counter-punch, she will likely win.  Similarly, if Keys’ improvisation leads to taking a few points she shouldn’t have won, Keys will likely win.

My Prediction: Both players would love to and realistically can add a lot of big hardware to their trophy cases this summer.  Halep’s win over Angelique Kerber should give her some confidence.  If Halep can take care of her own service games, I think she wins a gritty match.
