(9) Carla Suárez Navarro VS (2) Angelique Kerber – I think Kerber should eventually solve CSN so long as her nerves about the quest for #1 doesn’t get the better of her (a real possibility).

(5) Agnieszka Radwanska VS (3) Simona Halep – Aga has more feel and variety than Halep, but Halep’s speed, tenacity, and consistency tend to neutralize a lot of variety’s impact.  I think Halep will eventually grind Radwanska down so long as Halep can hold serve.

(15) Karolina Pliskova VS (7) Svetlana Kuznetsova – The veteran had a mini-renaissance in Miami and could continue that here.

(4) Garbiñe Muguruza VS (Q) Timea Babos – I think Garbine Muguruza is back to playing close to her normal high quality level of play.  That is bad news for Babos, but Babos grabbed a lot of ranking points and respect in Cincinnati if her journey ends in this match.
