Fabio Fognini (ITA) vs. Pablo Carreño Busta (ESP) H2H – PCB has had a nice fall season so this could be a bad pick, but part of me is fascinated by the mess that is Fabio Fognini.

Fernando Verdasco (ESP) vs. [Q] Robin Haase (NED) H2H – I am taking a second erratic player.

Marcos Baghdatis (CYP) vs. [WC] Paul-Henri Mathieu (FRA)  H2H – A 3rd erratic player being picked???

Albert Ramos-Vinolas (ESP) vs. [WC] Stéphane Robert (FRA) H2H – Robert should have some good feelings playing in Paris.

Steve Johnson (USA) vs. Guido Pella (ARG) H2H – The NCAA folk hero should win on the side court.

Joao Sousa (POR) vs. [Q] Andreas Seppi (ITA) H2H – Being match tough from qualifying might be enough for Seppi to pull a minor upset.

Illya Marchenko (UKR) vs. [Q] Jan-Lennard Struff (GER) H2H – I think the qualifier will once again be match tough.

Paolo Lorenzi (ITA) vs. Benoit Paire (FRA)  H2H – I like Paire to win on the side court.
