We’re not quite to London but the field is set
Predicted Winners in BOLD
[9] Marin Cilic (CRO) vs. John Isner (USA) H2H – Marin can set-up a Cincinnati rematch with Andy Murray if each wins their semifinal match. Cilic is riding a winning streak, just beat the world #1, and is 6-0 in career matches versus John Isner. I think Isner certainly has a chance, but Cilic has more paths to victory.
A Masters 1000 Rematch in the Making?
[2] Andy Murray (GBR) vs [4] Milos Raonic (CAN) – I think Andy Murray takes a massive step and becomes the number one player in the world for at least a short period of time. Andy Murray has had the better of Milos Raonic in 2016. Unless nerves get to him, I cannot see Murray losing this match. I think Murray’s return of serve and movement undermine Milos’ sometimes programatic play. Could Carlos Moya, who spent 2 weeks ranked number one in 1999, help Raonic solve Murray? I think Murray wins in 2 sets.
This could be the culmination of a long journey for Andy Murray
