[13] Venus Williams (USA) vs CoCo Vandeweghe (USA)

Each player enters this semifinal with a head of steam.  I think CoCo has played a tougher slate of opponents to reach the semifinal round.  Venus has an experience edge and has been in many major semifinals.  Therefore, we could be looking at a 50-50 match.  Venus and CoCo both play offense better than defense.  Therefore, the best way to beat each of them may be to force them into defensive postures or to elicit errors.  I can’t see either doing a ton of scrambling to elicit errors.  Therefore, the winner will likely be the player who is able to play aggressive tennis more often and more cleanly.  I think that means CoCo prevails.
