Indian Wells 2017: March 17th ATP Predictions

Predicted Winners in BOLD

[9] Roger Federer (SUI) vs. [15] Nick Kyrgios (AUS) H2H – If Kyrgios serves like he did in his 2 recent wins vs. Novak Djokovic, this pick will look foolish.  I think Federer is riding high mentally after picking up his 2nd win of 2017 vs. Rafael Nadal.  Also, playing during the day may be less advantageous to the server.  I still expect at least 1 tiebreak set.

Roger Federer d. Nick Kyrgios 7-6, 4-6, 7-6

[4] Kei Nishikori (JPN) vs. [17] Jack Sock (USA) H2H –  Sock’s forehand can certainly do damage in this match.  However, I think Nishikori’s return of serve will rob Sock of time often enough to produce 1-2 breaks per set.  That should be enough for Nishikori to win.

Kei Nishikori d. Jack Sock 6-4, 6-3

  1. For purely selfish reasons, I am picking the exact opposites. I would love to see a Sock/Kyrgios semifinal.

That would be a fun semi
