This match is not what I or the tournament directors expected.  It is intriguing and could be a huge feather in Vesnina’s cap or a strong statement about Kuznetsova still being able to win big events late in her career.

I don’t have a ton to say.  I think Kuznetsova has enough movement and guile to slow Vesnina’s momentum.  I have picked against Kuznetsova for 2 straight rounds and been wrong.  I might be wrong again, but if so, it will be from overvaluing Kuznetsova.
