Masters Miami 2017: March 30th ATP Predictions

Predicted Winners in BOLD

[4] Roger Federer (SUI) vs. [10] Tomas Berdych (CZE) H2H – Berdych is capable of winning this match, but history tells us he is the decided underdog.  Roger Federer is likely to play a light clay court schedule so he could be motivated to grab as many computer points as possible in Miami.  He may also be of the mindset that he just won Indian Wells and doesn’t need to dig too deeply if plan A is not working.  Unless Berdych claims control of points with his serve and first strike return game, Federer’s variety will lead to victory.

My prediction: Federer d. Berdych 7-5, 6-3

[12] Nick Kyrgios (AUS) vs. [16] Alexander Zverev (GER) H2H – How much has Zverev learned since their last tilt?  It is possible Zverev will turn the tables on Kyrgios, but the Australian has to be favored based upon their recent match.  I expect a lot of power from both players, but the player who employs a little subtlety will likely be the victor.

My prediction: Kyrgios d. A. Zverev 7-6, 6-4

I expect him to win. I think he may be in the final as well.
