French Open 2017: May 28th Men’s Predictions

Predicted Winners in BOLD

Stephane Robert (FRA) vs. Grigor Dimitrov (BUL) [11] – Dimitrov was playing great tennis in the first phases of 2017.  A solid showing in Paris before the grass court season could help cement 2017 as  turning point in his career.

Lucas Pouille (FRA) [16] vs. Julien Benneteau (FRA) – This is not an ideal draw for Pouille, but he has played better since the clay season began and is the far younger player.

Dominic Thiem (AUT) [6] vs. Bernard Tomic (AUS) – Not an ideal first match for Thiem as Tomic has talent, but on clay Thiem is the heavy favorite.

Guillermo Garcia-Lopez (ESP) vs. Gilles Muller (LUX) [26] – Not really an upset

Tommy Robredo (ESP) vs. Daniel Evans (GBR) – If Robredo is healthy, he may get a veteran nod and pull an upset.

Marius Copil (ROU) vs. Albert Ramos-Vinolas (ESP) [19] – ARV has had a great clay season.

Ivo Karlovic (CRO) [23] vs. Stefanos Tsitsipas (GRE) – Bombs away

Taro Daniel (JPN) vs. Jerzy Janowicz (POL) – Jerzy needs to take advantage of a chance to advance.

Yuichi Sugita (JPN) vs. Steve Johnson (USA) [25] – Steve Johnson should win this match.

Pablo Carreno Busta (ESP) [20] vs. Florian Mayer (GER) – This could be a fun match.

Robin Haase (NED) vs. Alex De Minaur (AUS)

Thomaz Bellucci (BRA) vs. Dusan Lajovic (SRB)
