Predicted Winners in BOLD
Center Court (11 a.m. start)
[7] Grigor Dimitrov (BUL) vs. Feliciano Lopez (ESP) H2H – If Grigor can return with some sting, I think he will win this match.
[4] Alexander Zverev (GER) vs. [WC] Frances Tiafoe (USA) H2H – The Next Big Thing vs. a potential US breakout. It should be a fun match, and Zverev might be leg weary from winning both DC and Montreal. Still, I can’t pick Tiafoe.
[1] Rafael Nadal (ESP) vs. Richard Gasquet (FRA) – Gasquet has struggled mightily versus Nadal. This surface and Nadal’s history of some tough losses in Cincinnati are about the only rays of hope I see for Gasquet.
Grandstand
Juan Martin del Potro (ARG) vs. [Q] Mitchell Krueger (USA) H2H – JMDP has to be feeling good to have knocked off Berdych. This is a managemable match for the big Argentine.
[15] Sam Querrey (USA) vs. Adrian Mannarino (FRA) H2H – Querrey has had the best year of his career in 2017. Mannarino has played quite well over the past 2 weeks. This should be a good match, but I think Querrey advances.
Stadium 3
David Ferrer (ESP) vs. [LL] Janko Tipsarevic (SRB) H2H – Each veteran player could use the ranking points, but Ferrer has shown a lot of good form lately so I lean in his direction.
Nick Kyrgios (AUS) vs. [Q]Alexandr Dolgopolov (UKR) H2H – This match is too random to predict, but I will take Kyrgios if I have to make a pick.
[WC] Jared Donaldson (USA) vs. [LL] Ramkumar Ramanathan (IND) H2H
Court 10
[11] Pablo Carreno Busta (ESP) vs. Mischa Zverev (GER) H2H – This should be a fun match for fans with tickets.
Nikoloz Basilashvili (GEO) vs. [LL] Christian Harrison (USA) H2H
Court 4
Karen Khachanov (RUS) vs. [LL] Thomas Fabbiano (ITA) H2H
[16] Gilles Muller (LUX) vs. Albert Ramos-Vinolas (ESP) – Another match that ticket holders should be sure to watch.
Court 7
Yuichi Sugita (JPN) vs. [Q] Joao Sousa (POR) H2H
