16 A. Sevastova vs. M. Sharapova – Sharapova is among the favorites at this point.  Scheduling controversies and comments by current and former players about her receiving wild cards have set the stage for a possible emerging story.

C. Suárez Navarro vs. 9 V. Williams – CSN has beaten Venus at a major.  I still think Venus finds her way through a tough match.

13 P. Kvitová vs. 3 G. Muguruza – *Match of the Day* Kvitova has historically struggled at the US Open.  Her comeback and possible upset of the player with the most momentum on tour is something to see.  Muguruza’s momentum and potential for becoming the next dominating #1 is something to see.  So what I am saying is watch this match.
