China 2017: October 3rd ATP Predictions

Predicted Winners in BOLD

[WC] Juan Martin del Potro (ARG) vs. Pablo Cuevas (URU) – This could be a close match, but I think JMDP wins.

[1] Rafael Nadal (ESP) vs. Lucas Pouille (FRA) – Pouille can beat Nadal as he did at the 2016 US Open.  I would not be shocked for this to go 3 sets, but I think Rafa has earned the benefit of the doubt.

[2] Alexander Zverev (GER) vs. Kyle Edmund (GBR) – Again, this match could be quite close.  Zverev has yet to prove he can consistently beat quality opponents.  Still, the #2 seed should prevail.

[3] Grigor Dimitrov (BUL) vs. [SE] Damir Dzumhur (BIH) – What a match!  Damir Dzumhur is playing quite well.  Dimitrov could use a strong showing to help his fall season get off to the right start.  I think Dimitrov might win due to fatigue pulling Dzumhur’s level of play down just a bit.

[7] Tomas Berdych (CZE) vs. Jared Donaldson (USA) – I like Berdych to finish 2017 in a strong fashion.

[8] Nick Kyrgios (AUS) vs. Nikoloz Basilashvili (GEO)

Leonardo Mayer (ARG) vs. Paolo Lorenzi (ITA)

[6] John Isner (USA) vs. [Q] Malek Jaziri (TUN)

Jack Sock (USA) vs. Andrey Rublev (RUS) – I like the young Russian to pull a mild upset.

Karen Khachanov (RUS) vs. [WC] Di Wu (CHN)
