Emerging stars always help tennis.  I am not sure how many people pegged Sofia Kenin to reach a major final prior to this event.  Yet, here she is!  A clutch performance vs. the world #1 and Australian hope Ash Barty resulted in a 7-6 (8-6), 7-5 victory for Sofia Kenin.  Barty finished 2019 in a flurry and started 2020 with a nice run in Melbourne.  Kenin still has one more match to play.
