The world number two defeated top seeded Rafael Nadal in straight sets 6-3 6-4 to claim the prestigious Barclays year end championships in London. The Serb extended his unbeaten run to 22 matches after clinching the title.
The Spaniard was outplayed by Djokovic throughout the match, struggling to find pace and failing to build up a defence mode against the hard hitting Serbian.
The only weapon the world number one managed to use to his advantage was his serve, knocking up a 71 percentage of first serves.
Novak Djokovic shot a total of 19 winners through a weary Nadal, who hit only 9 winners.
Despite the loss between the two rivals, Nadal will end the year as the world number one following a highly successful season.
