Tomas Berdych vs. Marin Cilic

Each man took a standing 8 count on Monday.  Losing 6-1, 6-1 in a battle of tennis elites is humbling, but in round robin play, one need not go undefeated to advance.  Each man came in with some momentum given recent titles in Moscow for Cilic and Stockholm for Berdych.  Berdych also reached the semifinal round in Paris.  The winner of this match will be in the thick of qualifying while the loser is going to be more or less eliminated.  Given how badly their Monday matches went, it is very hard to read much into the possible outcome of this match.

Cilic won matches at Wimbledon and the US Open vs. Berdych.  Cilic also missed Paris for undisclosed reasons.  Both players play a similar game.  Cilic is a more fluid than Berdych, but Tomas has been more steady over the course of their careers.  This surface should benefit both players.  Flip a coin?
