- Serena Williams and Novak Djokovic finished 2014 ranked #1. They each have put an early claim on the #1 ranking for 2015. Congratulations to the 6 time and 5 time champions.
- Andy Murray ended 2014 losing 6-0, 6-1 to Roger Federer. Murray’s wins over Dimitrov and Bercyh along with his showing in the first two sets of the championship match bode well for 2015 being a rebound year.
- Maria Sharapova has a firm hold on the #2 ranking. That next step is going to be a tricky one.
- Stan Wawrinka made a game attempt at defending his title.
- Victoria Azarenka appears to be back. This is good for tennis.
- Tomas Berdych has to feel good about beating Rafael Nadal. Are Berdych and his new coach on to bigger and better things as their time together increases?
- Madison Keys is a player.
- When Murray and Nole are exchanging baseline salvoes, they put on some of the best tennis I have seen.
- Nick Kyrgios, Milos Raonic,
Grigor Dimitorv, and Kei Nishikori ensured that50%37.5% of the men’s quarterfinalists were 25 or under. That is a quasi-youth movement in today’s game. (Grigor I tried to help you advance there) - Fedal Era questions emerge from this event.
My Power Ranking will be out later today. Also, my first vlog of 2015 will be up sometime this week. Thanks for a great event. Tennis Abides had one of its best months ever in terms of readership and broke new ground as well.

nice list dan – agree with all!
This was a very good event for tennis I think – great matches and atmosphere – 2 historically significant titles …
