Masters Rome 2016: ATP Semifinal Predictions

One more time?

Predicted Winners in BOLD

[2] Andy Murray (GBR) vs. [LL] Lucas Pouille (FRA) H2H – Pouille may be the luckiest of lucky losers.  He entered Rome with a little over 900 ranking points.  He will add at least 360 points to his ranking total despite not making it through the qualifying rounds in Rome.  I think his luck runs out as Andy Murray is playing some of his best clay court tennis.

[1] Novak Djokovic (SRB) vs. [6] Kei Nishikori (JPN) – Kei could make this interesting.  If Novak has any physical or mental letdown after beating Rafa, I think an upset is possible. However, Novak can win this match and enter Roland Garros with the momentum of a runaway freight train.  I think Novak and his team would like the path of least resistance in Paris and that path includes an intimidated locker room.
